Traditionally, at this time of year, the president is used to spending his vacation at his private golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey. According to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, it is considered a usual practice for the head of state to go on vacation at this time. She noted that there had been discussions about the president working from Bedminster for several weeks, but Trump, given the seriousness of the situation, decided to refuse this option.
“There were debates about the president possibly working for several weeks in Bedminster, but he opposed this and canceled his vacation plans,” Leavitt told journalists.
