The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued an important warning to the general public. In the statement of the commission, it was said that Labubu toys, which have recently become popular among young children, may pose a serious threat to their health and life.
According to the information, Labubu products sold on the market in the form of soft figures and keychains are especially dangerous for young children. Because the shape and size of these toys allow children to easily put them into their mouths. Therefore, it is noted that they may block the airways and interfere with the breathing process.
The commission stated that Labubu toys can easily break into small parts. This makes them even more dangerous. Since there is a high probability that small pieces may get stuck in the child’s throat. Such a situation may lead not only to serious injury but also to tragic consequences.
CPSC experts reported that such defects were identified in batches imported from China to the United States. Officials call for careful inspection of all types of Labubu products being sold.
For information: Labubu is a character similar to an elf, created in 2015 by the famous Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung. It is distinguished by its big and bright eyes, pointed ears, and nine fang-like teeth. Unlike other toys, it has attracted great interest among children and collectors with its fantastic appearance.
It should be noted that since the end of last year, demand for Labubu products has sharply increased. Its popularity is noted not only in Asian countries but also in the U.S. and Europe.
Nevertheless, specialists urge parents to be cautious and emphasize the need to put children’s health in the first place. Because no matter how interesting and popular a toy is, its safety must always remain a priority.
