A drone, presumably belonging to Russia, crashed in Poland. According to local media reports, the unmanned aircraft fell into a cornfield in the eastern part of the country.
According to the Polish army, the drone was not used for combat purposes but contained a small amount of explosive material. The military described it as a “decoy drone.”
Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, commenting on the incident, emphasized that Russia is choosing a new path of provocations against NATO member states.
— Russia’s actions are being observed in connection with drone incidents in Romania, Lithuania, and Latvia. In addition, it has been violating the airspace of nearly all NATO members — especially Scandinavia, the Baltic states, Poland, Romania, and Bulgaria, — the minister said.
According to him, such provocations occur at a very delicate time — while negotiations on a ceasefire or ending the Russia-Ukraine war are still ongoing.
Experts believe this situation may further escalate the already complicated relations between NATO and Russia.
