In Moscow, a well-known restaurant critic was fined 200,000 rubles for his published article. This was reported by RIA Novosti, citing court documents.
In the critic’s article, along with evaluations of the interior, menu, and service quality, the comments of the restaurant’s employees were also included. In particular, some of them complained about delays in salary payments. These statements became the reason for the lawsuit.
The restaurant’s management considered these claims to be false and damaging to the business reputation. As a result, the responsibility was placed not on the employees but on the critic who included their words in his article.
According to the decision of the Moscow Arbitration Court, the critic must pay not only the fine but also cover court costs and the state fee.
