The United States has made an important and high-profile decision regarding migration policy. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced through his page on the X network that the government has decided to immediately suspend the process of issuing work visas to foreign truck drivers.
According to Rubio, the growing number of foreign drivers operating large trailer trucks on American roads affects not only road safety but also seriously undermines the income of local drivers in the labor market. In his statement, he noted: “The excessive increase of foreign drivers on US roads endangers the lives of Americans and damages their economic interests.”
At the same time, reports indicate that some foreign nationals are now required to provide additional financial guarantees when applying for a visa to enter the US. Specifically, during the visa process, a security deposit of up to 15,000 dollars may be demanded. This sum is returned if the foreign driver leaves the US on time.
Earlier, the US State Department also issued a serious statement, announcing that more than 55 million foreign nationals holding valid American visas are currently being investigated for possible violations of migration law.
