Young courier in China rescues woman trapped for 30 hours

In China’s Sichuan province, an unusual incident drew the attention of the entire public. A young food delivery courier, thanks to his alertness and sense of responsibility, saved a woman’s life.

According to reports, on August 12, a student named Zhang, working as a courier in the city of Leshan, noticed a white pillow in the corridor with the numbers “110 625” written in blood. Worried that someone was in danger, he immediately called the police.

It turned out that the numbers on the pillow pointed to a specific address. “625” matched the apartment and floor number, which helped law enforcement locate the site.

At first, police suspected violence or abduction. But after breaking the door open, they discovered that a woman had been locked inside her bedroom for 30 hours. Reports say Zhou was cleaning the room when a sudden gust of wind slammed the door shut, and due to a faulty lock, she was trapped inside. Her phone remained in the hotel lobby, leaving her unable to call for help.

The woman’s attempts — kicking and knocking on the door, even hanging a red dress out the window — brought no result. Finally, she bit her finger, wrote “110 625” in blood on a pillow, and threw it out the window.

“When the police broke the door, I felt like I was seeing my family,” Zhou said after being rescued.

She offered Zhang 1,000 yuan in gratitude, but he refused. “I’m still a student, it was just a small act of kindness. Anyone would have called the police,” the young courier said.

Afterward, Meituan, the company where Zhang worked, awarded him the honorary title “Pioneer Rider” and gave him a 2,000 yuan reward.

Undoubtedly, this event will remain in history as a vivid example of kindness and humanity in society.
