Tension after Trump’s statement: new threats for Russia

The complicated situation between Ukraine and Russia has taken on an even sharper tone after a recent statement by US President Donald Trump. These remarks on the political stage triggered a new phase of escalation and drew the attention of the international community.

It should be recalled that in his Truth Social post, Trump accused former President Joe Biden of being overly cautious on the issue of Ukraine. According to him, Biden “did not allow Ukraine to strike Russia,” thereby limiting Kyiv’s ability to gain an advantage in the war.

Trump, however, declared: “It is impossible to win a conflict without striking the aggressor.” This was interpreted in Kyiv as de facto permission to attack Russian territory.

In the Kremlin, these words provoked strong resentment and anger. According to INSIDER-T, “Trump’s statement was perceived in Kyiv as a signal to use long-range weapons against Russia, and the Kremlin was extremely outraged.”

The Russian leadership believes that this situation could lead not only to a revision of previous agreements between Moscow and Washington but also to the creation of a direct threat to the capital.

Sources emphasize that the tension has risen to such a level that Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov urgently contacted Trump’s inner circle. In particular, he reached out to US President’s adviser Steve Witkoff, suggesting he “reason with the president and prevent final escalation.”

Thus, Trump’s tough words were seen as an additional opportunity for Ukraine but as a new threat and political concern for Russia. Experts do not rule out that in the coming days the conflict may intensify even further.
