Transport Minister Fined: Minister's Mistake and Their Accountability

Transport Minister Abdulqodir Urolugli was fined for exceeding the speed limit while driving his personal car. His actions led to widespread discussions on social media, and the incident was widely covered in the media.

According to reports, Urolugli, while traveling from Ankara to Niğde, reached a speed of 225 km/h. This, of course, was a significant violation, as the speed limit on the highway is 140 km/h. This mistake attracted considerable attention to the minister, and the actions of the official responsible for road safety became the subject of much criticism.

Urolugli admitted his mistake, posting a video showing the speed violation, and decided to contact the police. According to him, he voluntarily approached the police, admitted the violation, and was fined 9267 lira (230 dollars).

He emphasized that the law is the same for everyone, and thus, ministers must also be held accountable for their mistakes. According to him, all civil servants should obey the law and understand the need to avoid mistakes.
