Seven underground schools opened in Ukraine.

With the start of the new school year in Ukraine, thousands of children began underground classes to ensure safety. Due to Russian attacks in Kharkiv, seven modern underground schools have begun operating in various parts of the city, educating approximately 17,000 students.

According to Reuters, this experiment is being conducted in the most affected and peace-loving districts of the city. According to the city administration, the number of underground schools is planned to be increased again in the coming days. Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov stated that three more schools will be opened soon, and six stations in the city's metro have been converted into classrooms.

About 1.5 thousand children study in two schools in the Nova Saltyk district. Due to security and a peaceful environment, parents are expressing confidence in these institutions. One of the parents from Kharkiv, Anastasia Pochergina, said that her daughter entered first grade and said: "This is the deepest school in Kharkiv, so I feel safe. But I also dream of my child going to regular school."

6-year-old Maria Yampolskaya, upon entering first grade, replied, "I couldn't go to kindergarten because of the war." Thus, the new school year for war-affected children began in a safe and peaceful environment through underground schools.
