Mirror solar power plant launched in China

China has attracted the attention of the world community with another innovative energy project. The world's first mirror solar power plant was officially launched in the country's Gansu province.

At this station, about 30,000 large mirrors direct sunlight to a special tower 200 meters high. There, the salt solution is heated using high-temperature rays. Steam is generated through a heated salt solution, which serves to rotate the turbines.

The project's capacity is truly enormous. The plant is capable of generating about 1.8 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity per year. This figure is fully sufficient to cover the electricity needs of almost 170 thousand households.
