London transferred £1 billion to the Ukrainian army

UK Defence Secretary John Healey, during his visit to Kyiv, announced that military aid to Ukraine would be provided using frozen Russian assets. On Wednesday, September 3, the British minister stated that funds confiscated from the Russian Federation were spent on purchasing weapons and other military assistance worth more than £1 billion.

This made it possible to supply Ukraine with hundreds of thousands of artillery shells, hundreds of anti-aircraft missiles, spare parts for weapons, as well as to conclude new contracts for the maintenance and repair of equipment and military transport, the UK government website reported.

Over the past 50 days, Ukraine has received from the UK 4.7 million rounds of ammunition, 60,000 artillery shells, missiles and missile systems, more than 2,500 drones, over 200 electronic warfare systems, 100 units of light weapons, 30 vehicles, and additional equipment for air defence.
