Poverty in Russia has fallen sharply, new figures released

The level of poverty in Russia has significantly decreased over the past decade, Vladimir Putin noted in his speech at the SCO plenary session. According to him, the poverty rate in the country has decreased from 11.3% to 7.2%. The President assessed this as a result of social policy and economic growth.

Putin emphasized that the Russian government is implementing large-scale reforms to improve the well-being of the population, ensure regional development, and introduce modern technologies. One of the important statements he made was that representatives from more than 70 countries participated in the forum.

One of the main topics discussed at the meeting was the creation of legal and technical conditions for the widespread use of drones in the agro-industrial sector. Drones are especially helpful in the effective management of agricultural land and the prevention of forest fires.

Russia also plans to develop the Arctic regions. Putin announced that the "Trans-Arctic Corridor" project will be implemented, which will allow for the widespread use of inland waterways. The project will serve to improve the country's logistics potential and develop new economic directions.

Another noteworthy statement during the forum was the resumption of air traffic between Russia and the DPRK. In addition, the new bridge under construction over the Tumannaya River is expected to be commissioned in 2026.
