US President Donald Trump organized a special meeting at the White House with leaders of the country's major technology and business sectors. Leaders of the world's most powerful corporations, such as Meta, Apple, Microsoft, and OpenAI, participated in it. Trump recognized the participants of the event as "the main leaders of the economic and innovation revolution." The agenda of the meeting focused on the development of artificial intelligence and investment programs in the USA.
During the conversation, President Trump made a number of promises to entrepreneurs. He expressed his readiness to create conveniences in tax and labor legislation for regular entrepreneurs, simplify construction permits, and especially simplify the process of obtaining the necessary electricity and licenses for information centers. At the same time, he emphasized that the US is far ahead of China in the field of artificial intelligence.
The companies participating in the meeting also announced their investment plans. For example, Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg stated his intention to allocate at least $600 billion to artificial intelligence and data centers by 2028. Apple announced that it would allocate an additional $100 billion to further develop production in the US. Thus, the companies announced plans to invest heavily in artificial intelligence infrastructure and production capacities.
During the meeting, the issue of import duties and support for domestic production was also considered. Trump once again demonstrated his policy aimed at stimulating local industry and attracting large investments to the country.
According to analysts, such meetings are important for the president in two directions. The first is economic development and the creation of new jobs, and the second is to ensure the support of large companies and investors in the election process. Billionaires presented their investment plans, demonstrating their readiness for the president's policies.
The meeting also demonstrated Trump's intention to strengthen ties with corporate America and further strengthen technological competition with China. At the same time, during a conversation with the head of Apple, he expressed dissatisfaction with the company's plans in India.
As a reminder, former President Joe Biden, in his final address to the nation before resigning, warned of the possibility of a handful of billionaires ruling the country.
