The Government of Japan has decided to close all six branches of the non-profit organization “Japan Center” operating on the territory of Russia.
This was reported to journalists by Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi. According to him, this decision is connected with the current state of relations between Tokyo and Moscow, as well as with the “situation inside Russia.”
“An official decision has been made to suspend the work of the centers,” Hayashi emphasized.
According to information from TBS television channel, the Japanese government had previously informed the Russian side about this decision. At the same time, assistance was requested in ensuring the safety of employees working in the centers.
