A new impeachment process has begun in France against President Emmanuel Macron. 104 deputies in parliament supported this initiative and put the issue of distrust in the president of the republic on the official agenda.
"Historical event! Following mass protests across the country on September 10, 104 deputies, along with environmentalists and communists, signed an initiative to impeach Macron. The president must resign," said Matilda Pano, chair of the "Insoumise France" party.
As a reminder, large demonstrations took place across France on September 10th under the slogan "Close Everything." The protesters criticized the government's economic policy and opposed the budget cuts. Their actions led to the blocking of streets, the burning of garbage bins, and clashes with police.
During the parliamentary voting, 364 deputies voted against, while 194 voted in favor, expressing distrust of the government. As a result, Prime Minister François Bairou resigned from his post in the government.
After the protests, citizens in many cities of the country organized street festivals and mass gatherings, which showed that the political situation was attracting the attention of the population. Currently, the development of the political crisis in the country and Macron's retention or resignation are in the focus of public and international attention.
