US President Donald Trump made a statement on his Truth Social social network about new and harsh sanctions against Russia. He emphasized that such restrictions can only be implemented with the consent of all NATO member states. At the same time, he stressed the need to completely abandon the purchase of Russian oil.
Trump believes that in the current situation, purchasing oil from Russia weakens the North Atlantic Alliance's position in resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Therefore, he called on all member states to take a firm position on this issue.
The president also noted that the war could be ended in a short time by imposing high tariffs on products coming from China. According to him, if NATO jointly introduces tariffs ranging from 50% to 100% on Chinese goods, this will be a decisive factor in ending the war.
"If such measures are taken, the war will soon end and the lives of thousands of people will be saved. Otherwise, my time, as well as the time, energy, and resources of the United States of America, will be wasted," Trump wrote.
At the same time, he added that the tariffs could be completely canceled after the end of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Trump's statement has generated significant interest in the international arena, and his ideas are being widely discussed among the public.
