The Romanian Ministry of Defence announced that a Russian drone entered the country’s airspace. This was the second such incident among NATO countries after Poland.
According to the ministry, the drone was detected near the village of Chilia Veche, but it did not fly over populated areas and posed no danger.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described the incident as Russia’s attempt to expand the war. The European Union also condemned the violation of Romanian territory.
Poland, meanwhile, shot down several Russian drones that entered its airspace this week. NATO countries are strengthening defence measures at their borders.
