Palestinian children to be treated in the UK

A group of severely ill and injured Palestinian children has been evacuated from Gaza. They are expected to arrive in the UK in the coming days and will receive treatment in hospitals.

UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper confirmed the evacuation of the children. The first group reportedly includes between 30 and 50 children. Family members may accompany them if necessary.

Cooper said the process required extensive diplomatic efforts. She also noted that work is under way to evacuate students who have secured places at British universities.

Meanwhile, bombardments continue in Gaza. Local sources report that many people have been killed, while hundreds of civilians have died from hunger and food shortages.
