According to the data, the decrease in waste volume is explained by a decrease in the level of consumption in the country, a gradual decrease in the population, and the effective implementation of a rational waste management system.
It's worth noting that ten years ago, China invested heavily to free its cities from the "garbage blockade." Hundreds of new factories were built at the expense of billions of dollars, the main task of which was to reduce environmental risks by processing and burning various types of waste.
However, as a result of the invested funds, the production capacity of some plants has exceeded the target. Currently, some enterprises are forced to close their doors due to insufficient waste volume, while others are limited to purchasing necessary raw materials from other regions.
