The UK and the US are making a new agreement on the development of nuclear energy. The deal is expected to create thousands of jobs and strengthen Britain’s energy security. It will be signed during the visit of US President Donald Trump.
The agreement aims to speed up the process of approving the construction of nuclear facilities. If nuclear facilities pass safety checks in one country, approval in the other will become easier.
In addition, 12 new nuclear facilities are planned to be built in the city of Hartlepool. This project could provide electricity to 1.5 million households and create thousands of jobs.
However, environmentalists are criticizing this initiative. They say such projects are very expensive and take a long time, which could result in higher electricity prices.
