Democrats are asking Trump to save the government from stopping its work

Democratic leaders in the US Congress emphasized the need to hold a meeting with President Donald Trump soon to eliminate the risk of the federal government's work being suspended. In their address to the president, they reminded that the situation is exacerbated by the Republicans' refusal to finance healthcare.

"The Republicans may postpone the issue of financing, and the work of the government may be suspended due to the decisions you have made. Therefore, our demand is to hold the meeting immediately," the Democrats' letter reads.

Democrats accuse Republicans of deliberately refusing consultations between the two parties. According to them, the current process is not a political dispute, but a problem that jeopardizes the functioning of the entire state apparatus.

Meanwhile, House Speaker Republican Mike Johnson denied the Democrats' accusations. In his opinion, it is the Democrats who are putting forward unfeasible demands for the adoption of the government financing law and thus blocking the workflow.

As a reminder, Donald Trump addressed Congress on September 19th, stating that the federal government would be suspended if the two parties failed to reach a compromise in Congress by October 1st. On the same day, the Senate rejected two bills to continue financing.

Based on the situation, major political debates and discussions are expected in Washington in the coming days. A halt in government work could have a serious impact not only on government institutions but also on the daily lives of millions of Americans.
