Indonesia announced its readiness to send more than 20,000 troops to Gaza

The 80th session of the UN General Assembly became another important event in the world political arena. Indonesian President Prabovo Subianto stated from a New York platform on September 23rd that his country is ready to take a major step towards establishing peace in the Gaza Strip.

The Indonesian leader emphasized that if the UN Security Council and the General Assembly make an official decision, the country is ready to send more than 20,000 soldiers as part of multilateral peacekeeping forces. "The decision on two states should not be a dream, but a reality," said Prabovo Subianto. In his opinion, Indonesia can also play an important role in Gaza as an experienced country in the UN peacekeeping missions.

For information, Indonesia, located in Southeast Asia, is the largest Muslim country in the world. About 270 million people, who make up 85 percent of the country's population, practice Islam.

During the session, world leaders once again recalled the difficult situation in Gaza. In his speech, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan strongly condemned Israel's brutal actions, noting that children are dying every day. "It has become commonplace for innocent children aged 2-3 to be left without arms and legs. It's time for world leaders to protect the oppressed for the sake of humanity's future!" he said with deep sorrow.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev also addressed this tragedy in his speech, emphasizing the need to cease hostilities and continue political negotiations. He expressed his firm support for the implementation of the "two peoples - two states" principle in accordance with UN resolutions.

According to official data, more than 65,000 Palestinians have been killed and more than 166,000 injured in the bloody conflict that has been ongoing since October 7, 2023. UNICEF noted that more than 18,000 children have died in the last 22 months alone.

The UN commission recently assessed Israel's actions as genocide. Human rights organizations such as B'Tselem and Physicians for Human Rights also accused Netanyahu's government of crimes against civilians. The report they prepared detailed the killing of thousands of children, women, and the elderly, the destruction of homes, the destruction of hospitals, and even the outbreak of famine.

International organizations continue to warn of a sharp increase in civilian casualties in Gaza, with thousands dying from shortages, hunger, and diseases. Undoubtedly, this is a great test for all of humanity.
