China once again attracted attention with its world-class engineering miracle. In the mountainous area of Guizhou Province, the tallest and largest suspension bridge in history was ceremoniously commissioned. This giant structure amazed not only the residents of the country, but also engineers and tourists from all over the world.
It took three years and nine months to build this bridge across the Huatszyan Gorge. 2 billion yuan, or approximately 280 million dollars, have been allocated for the project. Thanks to the construction of the new bridge, the two-hour journey on a regular road is now completed in just two minutes. This will significantly save not only time, but also transportation costs.
The main part of the structure has a length of 1420 meters, and its total length, including additional parts, has reached almost 2890 meters. The height of the bridge is a true record - 625 meters from its foundation to the section crossing the Beipangjiang River. This figure is almost nine times higher than the famous Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
This bridge was built entirely from steel trusses and was built in a complex mountainous area, which was a great challenge for the engineers. Nevertheless, using modern technologies and experience, they managed to create the most durable and aesthetically beautiful bridge in the world.
Guizhou Province is known as the center of bridge construction. Two of the world's tallest bridges have been built here before. Currently, there are more than 30,000 different bridges in the province. That is, this area can rightfully be called the "homeland of bridges."
