Madagascar President Andry Rajoelina announced the dissolution of the government following nationwide ongoing protests and plans to appoint a new prime minister within three days. This was reported by Reuters.
"I will deeply review and reform the governance system in this country," the president said in his address to the people.
This decision came after mass protests that began on September 25 against electricity and water outages. During the demonstrations, 22 people were killed and more than 100 were injured.
