Death penalty may be returned in Kyrgyzstan - Japarov's initiative

Kyrgyz leader Sadyr Japarov proposed reintroducing the death penalty for serious crimes. This was reported by his press secretary, Askat Alagozov.

According to the information, the Presidential Administration has been instructed to prepare a draft law providing for the most severe punishments for crimes against children, girls, and women.

Japarov's initiative was prompted by the tragic incident involving 17-year-old Aysulu Mukasheva. Aysulu went missing on September 27, her body was later found in the Kemin district. According to the investigation, the detained 41-year-old man confessed to kidnapping, raping, and killing her.

This event caused a great resonance in society and further intensified debates about the strengthening of punishment for the perpetrators.
