Hamas’s response to Donald Trump’s peace plan has shocked people in Gaza. Many Palestinians are asking on social media: “Has the war ended?” or “Is this a dream or reality?”
In its statement, Hamas did not give a full rejection. They agreed to release prisoners and hand over Gaza’s administration to Palestinian specialists, but did not answer other parts of the plan.
After the statement, Trump wrote that Hamas is ready for peace and called on Israel to stop the bombing. Reactions among residents are mixed: some are hopeful, others are doubtful.
Palestinians are waiting for the outcome. Some hope this will end the war, while others think Hamas may fall into a trap and the war could continue.
