Nearly 1,000 tourists trapped in snowstorm on Mount Everest
A powerful snowstorm on the eastern slopes of Mount Everest in Tibet has trapped nearly one thousand people in camps. According to Chinese reports, rescue operations have begun and some tourists have been evacuated.

The snowfall began on Friday evening and intensified. Some tents collapsed under the weight of the snow, and several tourists are suffering from hypothermia. Because of this, access to the Everest scenic area has been temporarily suspended.

Severe weather conditions continue in the region. In Nepal, heavy rains have caused floods and landslides, killing at least 47 people. In China, Typhoon Matmo has forced 150,000 people to evacuate their homes.

Mount Everest, at 8,849 meters, is the highest peak in the world. Every year many tourists try to climb it, but in recent years dangerous incidents in the area have increased.
