According to scientists, an 8-magnitude earthquake that could occur in the western part of the country, particularly in the San Andreas Fault in California, could cause an even stronger seismic disaster in the Cascadia subduction zone in the northwestern Pacific Ocean. This situation increases the likelihood of being recorded as "the largest natural disaster in North American history."
