Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan signed a decree creating new conveniences for citizens of the Turkic states - Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan.
According to it, citizens of this country will no longer be required to obtain citizenship or go through lengthy bureaucratic permitting processes to work or engage in business in Turkey. Only a residence permit will be sufficient.
However, these benefits do not apply to military service and law enforcement agencies - these areas remain open only to Turkish citizens.
The Decree also provides for the recognition of foreign diplomas and certificates, as well as the possibility of registration in professional associations. At the same time, these citizens cannot participate in internal elections.
Erdoğan's initiative is expected to strengthen cooperation between Turkic peoples and significantly ease the lives of thousands of citizens in Turkey.
