US President Donald Trump answered questions about the Taiwan issue on the CBS program "60 Minutes." During the conversation, he expressed his reaction to China's possible military actions.
The journalist asked Trump:
"If Xi Jinping launches a military operation against Taiwan, will you order US troops to protect it?" he asked.
Trump answered this question as follows:
"If that happens, then you'll know the consequences."
When the journalist asked why he wasn't speaking more openly about this, Trump replied:
"I cannot reveal my secrets," he replied.
He also noted that the topic of Taiwan was not raised during the meetings with Xi Jinping and added that he understands the consequences of the possible actions of the Chinese leadership.
