In the United Kingdom, a 32-year-old man named Anthony Williams was arrested after a stabbing incident on a London-bound train. He is accused of attempting to murder 11 people. According to police, he attacked several passengers on Saturday at Huntingdon Station near Cambridge.
As a result of the incident, a total of 11 people were injured, including a train staff member who was hospitalized in serious condition. Police confirmed that the incident was not linked to terrorism and that the suspect acted alone.
Williams appeared in court in Peterborough on Sunday. He was charged with attempted murder, causing bodily harm, and possession of a bladed weapon. The court ruled that he will remain in custody until the next hearing.
Police are also investigating whether the suspect is connected to other stabbing incidents in his hometown of Peterborough. Among the victims is football player Jonathan Gjoshe, who sustained minor injuries and is being treated in hospital.
