
According to Ukrainian officials, Russia carried out a night attack with drones and missiles, targeting transformer stations supplying Rivne nuclear power plant. Seven people were killed, some were hit in residential buildings.
In Dnipro, drones struck an apartment building, killing three and injuring 12. Three people were killed in Zaporizhzhia region, and one in Kharkiv region. Electricity was cut off in Kyiv, Poltava, and Kharkiv regions, leaving thousands without power and water.
Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk said the grid has been stabilized, but additional outages may be needed. Tsentrenergo company called the attacks the largest since 2022 and stopped operations at plants in Kyiv and Kharkiv.
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy called for stronger sanctions against Russia. He said each attack on energy harms ordinary people before winter, so sanctions should target all Russian energy resources.
