In South Korea, on the day of the National University entrance exam — Suneung, the country completely switched to a special mode. In order to prevent applicants from being late for the test, all air flights were completely halted for 35 minutes. Through this, movement toward the exam centers was ensured in a steady manner.
In addition, the government postponed the start of the working day for all public employees by one hour in order to reduce traffic congestion on the roads.
This year, more than 554 thousand young people participated in Suneung — the highest figure recorded in the last seven years. According to reliable sources, the tests continued without interruption from 8 to 13 hours, and students answered approximately 200 questions in the subjects they had chosen.
