Up to four thousand trucks have accumulated at Russia's border checkpoints connecting China, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. They are mainly drivers carrying imported cars.
According to experts, this direction is the main channel of parallel imports. According to dealers, the current queues may last at least until the end of November.
A "paid queue" has even appeared at border posts - special bots are selling the next seats for money.
The main reason for the traffic jams is one: an increase in the toll is expected from December 1. According to the new procedure, the amount of the fee is determined depending on the size and power of the car's engine.
Only for cars up to 160 horsepower will the fee remain low. Therefore, dealers try to get cars into the country as early as possible.
