School attack in Nigeria: Teacher killed, 25 girls kidnapped

Armed criminals attacked a boarding school in Nigeria’s Kebbi state, killed one teacher, and kidnapped 25 female students. According to BBC, the incident occurred on November 17 at around four in the morning in the village of Maga.

According to the information, the attackers entered the school compound on motorcycles, first shot and killed the teacher, then killed the guard. After that, they entered the dormitory where the girls were located and forcibly took 25 students.

According to the state police representative Nafiu Abubakar Kotarkosi, the criminals were armed with modern weapons, and a shootout occurred with the guards. At present, special units are conducting search operations, but no significant evidence related to the attack has yet been found.

It is known that in the northern and northwestern regions of Nigeria, armed groups engaged in kidnapping and hostage-taking operate. Such criminal gangs often raid villages and school territories, carrying out looting, kidnapping people, and demanding ransom.
