American researchers have reported that in recent years, it has been established that China provides more loans to high-income countries than to developing countries. According to NBC, even the US itself has become the largest borrower from China.
According to the report of the AidData laboratory, between 2000 and 2023, China allocated a total of 2.2 trillion dollars in loans and grants to 200 countries around the world.
The share of loans to low-income countries decreased from 88% to 12%, while the share of medium and high-income countries increased from 24% to 76%.
It is noted that in this process, the UK received a loan of 60 billion dollars, and the European Union - 161 billion dollars.
According to researchers, this is taking China's global financial influence to a new level.
