Tragedy of civilians: 34 people killed in Russian missile attack on Ternopil

The death toll from the Russian missile attack on Ternopil on November 19th has risen to 34. This was announced on Sunday, November 23, by the deputy head of the regional military administration, Taras Pastukh. "We can confirm that 34 people died, 33 of whom have been identified," he said via Telegram.

According to Pastukh, the identity of another man's body is being established by specialists. Also, six people - two men, three women, and one child - are listed as missing.

On the fourth day after the attack, search and rescue operations in Ternopil were suspended. Currently, police officers are gathering evidence to determine the type of weapon used to destroy the house.

"There is a hypothesis that this was a Russian X-101 missile strike, but evidence must be gathered for the investigation," Pastukh said. He added that as a result of the attack, a nine-story residential building partially collapsed, and another similar building was seriously damaged. The Russian military has not commented on the deaths of civilians in Ternopil. At the same time, the Russian Ministry of Defense emphasizes that the strike targeted military-industrial and energy facilities.
