The Ukrainian government has approved the foundations of the peace agreement proposed by the administration of US President Donald Trump to end Russia's nearly four-year military operations. CBS News reported this, citing an official US source.
There is a common compromise
Rustem Umerov, an American official and national security advisor to the President of Ukraine, confirmed that a general compromise has been reached on the proposal, but some aspects require elaboration. Official: "Ukrainians agree to a peace agreement. There are some minor details that need to be resolved, but they agree to a peace agreement."
The plan has shortened, diplomacy is at its peak
Last week, negotiations were held in Geneva, Switzerland, with the participation of Dan Driscoll, Marco Rubio, Jared Kushner, and diplomats of the Allies in Europe. As a result, the parties revised the peace program and left only 19 main points out of 28. Driscoll also traveled to Abu Dhabi to meet with Russian officials.
According to sources, a clear, numbered list of which 9 items were completely removed from the initial 28 jobs peace plan proposed by the Trump administration has not been published.
However, due to the strong objections of Ukraine and the European side, which participated in the Geneva talks, the most controversial series of rules, which were removed or eased from the plan, were announced. These were mainly maximalistic demands that served the interests of Russia:
Disputed Clauses Removed or Radically Modified (Content of Clause 9)

NATO members and other US allies issued a joint statement on Saturday, calling the plan a "foundation requiring further refinement." The White House confirmed that it had "developed a renewed foundation for peace" as a result of discussions in Geneva. Representatives emphasize that the negotiations were substantive, but "there is still some work to be done."
Summary:
According to Ukrainian side spokesman Alexander Bevz, not a single objection from Kyiv was ignored, and final decisions on "the most problematic issues" will be discussed later at the level of Presidents Trump and Zelenskyy. This means that, in essence, most of the most favorable requirements for Russia were removed from the plan from the very beginning or drastically eased.
