Relatives who sold 5-year-old girl in Mumbai exposed

In the Indian city of Mumbai, a five-year-old girl who had been illegally sold for money by her relatives was found by the police and returned to her mother. According to investigation data, the girl’s uncle and aunt negligently sold her to strangers, and later the buyers attempted to resell her to other people at a higher price.

Once the information surfaced, the police launched an urgent investigation. During the operations carried out, five individuals involved in human trafficking were detained. The girl was handed over to her mother under the supervision of the relevant authorities.

The investigation is ongoing.
