In the No. 1 maternity hospital in Novokuznetsk, nine newborn babies died in just two weeks. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
Currently, following this incident, the maternity hospital has been closed due to a high rate of illness among staff from acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI). The hospital administration announced that the work of the obstetric station has been temporarily suspended, and the reopening date will be announced later.
According to TASS, the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Kemerovo region has started an investigation into the maternity hospital. Due to sanitary and epidemiological indicators, an inspection will be carried out, and quarantine measures will be taken.
Minister of Health Andrey Tarasov stated that the situation is being assessed and measures are being taken to prevent such cases. "Official information will be provided after the completion of the investigation," the minister emphasized.
