Suspect detained in Dubai: new details of the Moscow assassination attempt

The main suspect in the assassination attempt on Senior Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseev, headed by the General Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, has been detained in Dubai, UAE. Interfax reported this, citing data from the Russian Federal Security Service.
According to special services, the detainee in Dubai is a Russian citizen, 66-year-old Lyubomir Korba. He is considered a direct perpetrator of the assassination attempt. According to the statement, UAE law enforcement agencies extradited the suspect to the Russian side.

As part of the case, another person was also detained in Moscow - Viktor Vasin, born in 1959. It was also noted that Zinaida Serebritskaya, born in 1971, is suspected of involvement in this incident, and according to the interpretation of special services, she managed to flee to Ukraine. Officials referred to these individuals as potential accomplices of the performer.
According to the investigation, the suspect was born in 1960 in the Ternopil region and arrived in Moscow in December 2025. According to the Russian Investigative Committee, he is suspected of acting to organize a terrorist attack at the behest of Ukrainian special services. It was reported that Vasin was charged with illegal arms trafficking and assault on the life of a serviceman.
According to official data, the assassination attempt on the general was carried out on the morning of February 6, in front of his house near the Volokolamskoye highway. According to sources close to the Kommersant's law enforcement agencies, the incident occurred around seven o'clock in the morning: when the general went out to a waiting service car on the street, he ran into a man who pretended to be a "home delivery worker" at the entrance. According to the source's interpretation, the general was wounded in the arms and legs, and when he tried to take the weapon away, he was also shot in the chest.

At the same time, the publication's sources note that the active resistance of the military official did not allow the attacker to complete the plan. As a result, the general was hospitalized in serious condition, and on February 7, it was reported that he regained consciousness after surgery.
Political and diplomatic attitudes towards the event also resonated. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov referred to the assassination attempt in the context of "provocations aimed at disrupting the negotiation process." Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Tsibiga denied accusations of Kyiv's involvement in the case.
Currently, all the details of the case are being clarified within the framework of the investigation. But one thing is clear: the incident could further exacerbate not only the security services' agenda, but also the regional political order.
