The material states that "there is a plan for any scenario," and among the most stringent measures is the possibility of an assassination attempt on Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.
According to the publication, one of the high-ranking advisors to the US president expressed the opinion that "one of the scenarios involves the elimination of the ayatollah, his son, and mullahs." At the same time, the source himself said that no one knows exactly which option the president will choose, and even the president himself may not have finalized the decision.
According to another Axios source, the plan to assassinate the Iranian leader was presented to Donald Trump several weeks ago. At this point, there is an important aspect: these reports are not yet an officially approved decision, but are being presented as information based on sources.
The material also mentions another direction: if Iran agrees to abandon the creation of the atomic bomb, Washington may consider the option of "symbolic" (limited) nuclear enrichment. That is, on the one hand, strong pressure scenarios, and on the other, an attempt to find a "technical corridor" for an agreement - both seem to have been discussed simultaneously.
The background isn't easy either: Reuters has written in recent days about the harsh statements and deadlines surrounding nuclear negotiations. This quickly turns any talk of an "internal scenario" into a big discussion.
The conclusion is simple: the current message doesn't mean that the decision was made on the field, but rather that the spectrum of options on the table has significantly expanded. At such times, the most correct thing for everyone is coldness: until official statements, clear decisions, and real steps are made, source-based "scenarios" are not yet reality.
