Officially advised Chinese citizens not to travel to Iran

The Consular Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China urged citizens not to travel to Iran. This was reported by The Global Times on February 27.
According to the official statement, taking into account the current security situation in Iran, Chinese citizens are advised to temporarily refrain from traveling to this country. At the same time, Chinese citizens currently in Iran are advised to strengthen personal security measures and, if possible, leave the country as soon as possible.
The statement also notes that Chinese diplomatic missions in Iran and neighboring countries will provide practical assistance to citizens wishing to leave via commercial flights or land routes.
