Military conflict with Iran costs US dearly

The US spent approximately $6 billion during the first week of the military conflict that began with Iran. The New York Times reported this, citing a Pentagon report submitted to Congress. According to the data, the bulk of the expenses, namely $4 billion, was directed toward purchasing ammunition intended to repel Iranian missile attacks. Currently, lawmakers are expecting the US administration to request an additional budget to continue military operations.

Recall that on February 28, the US and Israel launched large-scale airstrikes against Iranian territory. As a result of these strikes, the country's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed. The Iranian side officially confirmed this loss on March 1. In response, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced the start of a retaliatory operation against targets within Israeli territory. The situation has escalated further, with strikes also being carried out on US military bases located in Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
