The head of the US Counter-Terrorism Center resigned due to the war against Iran

Joe Kent, head of the US National Counter-Terrorism Center, has announced his resignation. According to him, the main reason for this decision is military actions in the Middle East, especially in connection with Iran.
Kent worked in the Donald Trump administration as the coordinator of the fight against terrorism, his candidacy was approved by the US Senate, and he began his work as the head of the National Counter-Terrorism Center in July 2024. However, he appealed to the president via social media, stating that he could not conscientiously support the war in Iran.
Kent argued that Iran was not a direct threat to the US, and that America began actions against Iran under pressure from Israel and its influential lobby in the US. Therefore, he resigned and chose not to support the policy of sacrificing new generations in wars.
His personal life also influenced the decision: Kent's wife, Shannon Kent, was killed in a suicide bombing in Syria in 2019. Kent also added that the information disseminated by high-ranking Israeli officials and influential American journalists undermined Trump's "America Above All" policy.
So far, Donald Trump has not officially commented on this resignation. Joe Kent's steps are gaining great attention in the US political environment and the public.
