Kim said Pyongyang would completely ignore and dismiss Seoul through what he described as clear statements and actions. According to the Korean Central News Agency, he also warned that any provocative move by South Korea would bring harsh consequences.

In the same speech, Kim repeated that North Korea’s status as a nuclear-armed state would never change. He said the country’s dignity, interests and ultimate victory could be protected only by the strongest force, adding that opponents can choose confrontation or peaceful coexistence and that Pyongyang is ready for either option.

Kim also pledged to further strengthen North Korea’s nuclear deterrent and keep its nuclear forces in an operational and precise state of readiness. He said the country would continue reinforcing its position as a nuclear state while actively working to suppress what it sees as provocations from hostile forces.
