Artemis-2: The Orion spacecraft has returned to Earth after completing a historic space mission

The Orion spacecraft, which flew around the Moon as part of NASA’s “Artemis-2” mission, has successfully returned to Earth. The return process was carried out on the night leading into Saturday, April 11, near the city of San Diego in the state of California, in the Pacific Ocean area.
More than 3 million viewers watched the landing live on NASA’s official YouTube channel. In addition, this historic event was also broadcast on other official platforms of the agency.
During the mission, a new record was set for the farthest distance humans have ever traveled from Earth in space. The astronauts reached a distance of 407,000 kilometers from Earth, thereby surpassing the previous record set during the 1970 “Apollo-13” mission.
On board the Orion spacecraft were NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch, as well as Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen. The spacecraft launched from the east coast of the United States on April 1, and on the evening of April 6, the Artemis-2 crew completed the lunar flyby phase and began their return to Earth.
During the mission, the participants also tested next-generation spacesuits. These spacesuits are capable of providing astronauts with autonomous breathing for up to six days.
The Artemis-2 space program is regarded as one of the key stages in humanity’s return to the Moon.
