Democrats in the US Congress are discussing a new political approach regarding military authorizations related to Iran. According to Axios, a group of lawmakers has proposed increasing pressure by putting a resolution on war powers to a vote every single day.
This initiative was raised during a gathering of progressive Democrats and has not yet been adopted as a final decision. Nevertheless, many congressmen have expressed interest in it.
According to the plan, a new resolution will be introduced and put to a vote every day that Congress is in session. This is intended to ensure that the issue does not drop off the agenda.
Previously, a resolution on this matter was rejected by a very narrow margin — 213 representatives voted against it, while 214 supported it.
It is reported that some centrist Democrats have not completely rejected this tactic during the discussions. They stated they are ready for repeated voting processes if necessary.
According to proponents of the initiative, even if the resolutions are not passed, such an approach clarifies the positions of lawmakers and maintains public attention.
Additionally, secondary economic impacts, such as fuel prices, may remain at the center of political debate.
Observers view this method as a new pressure strategy by Democrats against the policies of the Trump administration.
