A temple festival in India has ended in tragedy. During a ceremony held in the state of Kerala, an elephant went out of control, claiming the life of one person.

It is reported that the incident occurred near a temple in the Angamaly area. The elephant, brought for the festival, unexpectedly became aggressive and attacked those nearby.

As a result, 40-year-old Vishnu was killed. Notably, he was the person who had brought the elephant to the ceremony. Also, another citizen — Pradip — sustained various injuries and was transported to a hospital.

Witnesses stated that during the elephant's rampage, several cars and scooters were overturned, causing significant panic in the area. After approximately two hours of chaos, the animal was sedated using special tranquilizers.

Following this, the elephant was brought under control and tied to a tree near the temple. This incident highlights the need to further strengthen safety measures during festival events.
