
On April 10, a Zeekr electric car caught fire while charging in Tashkent, Nova24.uz reported.
The incident occurred at 07:30 on Furqat Street in the Chilanzar district. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, fire brigades arrived at the scene at 07:35, and the fire was fully extinguished by 08:28.
The cause of the fire was determined to be a battery compartment ignition in the electric vehicle. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Officials explained that EV batteries store a significant amount of energy, and according to international standards, cooling the battery until it is fully discharged is required in case of fire. This method differs from how fires in traditional fuel-powered vehicles are handled.
